DALLAS, TX – Ameriflight, the nation’s largest Part 135 Cargo airline, announced today that President and Chief Operating Officer Alan Rusinowitz has been named Chief Executive Officer and President of the company. This executive team transition falls in line with its strategic plan, coming just months after Rusinowitz’ arrival.
“Alan has brought a wealth of industry experience, as well as excellent leadership and strategic skills to Ameriflight. The Board and I are impressed with the impact he has made over the last three months, where he has brought clarity, structure, and focus, as well as a strong drive in leading the development of Ameriflight’s future strategy,” said Ameriflight Co-Chairman Sandy Smith. “We believe Alan is a great fit for Ameriflight and will successfully lead the business through its next strategic phase. On behalf of myself and the Board, I welcome Alan into this new position.”
“I’m energized by the talent and teamwork I see at Ameriflight. It is an honor to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer for such a notable and industry-leading company, and I’d like to thank our Owner Jim Martell and Co-Chairman Sandy Smith, as well as the Board for this opportunity,” said Rusinowitz. “In my short time with the company, I have been impressed by the experience and support of the employee group and the strength of our client relationships, which provide strong foundations on which to build in the years ahead. I believe we have an exciting future in front of us as we capture growth opportunities in our Expedited Supply Chain Solutions operation, integrator operation, and emerging technologies.”
With over 40 years in the industry, Rusinowitz has an extensive background in aviation that includes a rare blend of senior leadership experience in airline operations and business management. Prior to his most recent position of President and Chief Operating Officer at Ameriflight, he served 22 years at Martinaire Aviation as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Notably, he was a key leader in overseeing the development and implementation of the company’s strategic business goals and objectives, as well as successfully leading last year’s stock sale of Martinaire, Inc. and its subsidiaries.
