My Ameriflight Experience So Far: Captain Angel Rosado

We are very excited to have Angel on the Ameriflight team!
We recently asked him to tell us about his experience with Ameriflight so far.
Here’s what he had to say:

“My name is Angel Rosado and I am a SA227 Captain at Ameriflight. After my private pilot certificate, I flew friends and family for two years before starting at ATP Flight School. Like many other pilots, I built my time flight instructing. After reaching 1,200 total time, I was ready to start my career as a pilot. Following the advice of a friend and using the employment arrangement that Ameriflight has with ATP, I sent my application with the hope of becoming a freight dog. The very next day, I received a phone call from an Ameriflight recruiter. After interviewing, I happily accepted a position as a BE99 captain at the Phoenix base. Nine months later, I was upgraded to the SA227 Metroliner.

Ameriflight has allowed me to expand the skills and knowledge I gained while instructing. I use those skills every day as a Captain. Ameriflight’s rigorous flight and ground training has made me a more professional, skilled and safe pilot. The company’s training focuses on single pilot operations and the use of our general operational manual ensures a safe and legal flight. Our flights take us from a busy airport like Phoenix or Dallas Fort Worth to smaller regional airports like Tucson or Amarillo. Flying for Ameriflight not only exposes us to Pilot in Command time, but it also exposes us to high performance multi-engine aircraft, different airspaces, different weather, and even different countries. The skills I have learned in the past 10 months are the best that Ameriflight has to offer. Ameriflight is the reason I am a better pilot. I feel confident, because I know I have all the tools I need to complete my flights every day and come home to my family every night.

Fly safe and blue skies,

Angel Rosado
SA227 Captain”
